LOTS of pics from Wonderscope!

So last Friday Will took the day off (since he'd been gone for a week) and we ventured off to KC to Wonderscope Children's Museum. It had come highly recommended from several friends, so we were anxious to see what Hannah would think of it. It was located in an old school that was renovated/remodeled to accomodate this great place for kids! We took LOTS of pics, so I'll just let many of them speak for themselves. These first few were in the "Raceways" room where kids got to have buckets of balls and play with them (learn about gravity, etc) on racetracks and all kinds of other things where they could let balls go and watch them fly, fall, spin, bounce, etc! This was probably Hannah's favorite area.



Then on to "H2Oh!" with lots of fun water stations/activities for kids to splash and get nice and wet!



This is the only good pic we got in the "Grocery Store". Hannah is obsessed lately with pushing strollers or grocery carts, so needless to say, she was ecstatic to find these carts that were her size...and she kept wanting to escape with it!

Finally, the room/area we were most anxious and curious about was the hospital/doctor area. (There was probably a specific name, but I don't remember what it was). This was just a neat, big area where kids can pretend to be doctors, play with pretend doctor stuff, be up on a hospital bed with lights and all, etc. Anyways...we really wondered how Hannah would handle this room. Due to all her medical needs/delays, and MANY visits to doctors, hospitals, etc. in the past year or so, she is (to say the least) absolutely terrified, traumatized, and completely FREAKS out anytime she steps foot in any place resembling a facility that houses doctors, nurses, scales, hospital-looking equipment, period. We had high hopes that maybe going to a place like this and playing, having fun, etc. would maybe help calm her fears a bit. I think we maybe made a tiny bit of progress...but the proof will be next time we actually do have to go back to the real doctor. Getting measured (height), but getting to look at herself at the same time:
She actually stood on the scale and didn't totally have a melt down! She weighed in just shy of 36 pounds!

Overall, it was a great time and worth the short trip! Hannah loved it and we loved seeing her be able to roam the whole place happily...walking all by herself! Good times!
